I.N. Parlier (center) and wife to his left with their children and inlaws (18 in all) with hands joined to show the bough spread of his Smyrna Fig Tree. It was planted in 1888. The dimensions of the tree at this time (1909) were: Girth at ground, 11 feet 11 inches. Girth just below branching 13 feet 3 inches. Bough spread 78 feet. The roots of this great tree had become so infected with parasites it had to be destroyed.

Unknown man by his Hupmobile car in Eisen's Date Garden. November 24, 1910. F.T. Eisen's property and vineyard was bounded by Clovis, Belmont, Fowler Avenues and Kings Canyon Road. He was the first to cultivate wine and raisin grapes in the Valley.

Looking down Mariposa Street from I Street (now Broadway). The Fresno County Courthouse is seen in the distance. The First National Bank in the foreground at the southwest corner of I and Mariposa and the Farmer's National Bank is on the northwest corner. It is a great view of Fresno's amazing turn of the century architecture.

The first permanent school in Clovis built in 1897. This two-story served grades first through ninth. The building was located between First and Second Street on Pollasky Ave. Funding for the building came from a bond for $5000.

Description
An account of the resource
A parade (Armistice Day or 4th of July?) in what is likely Tulare Street in front of the Edgerly Block on the southeast corner of J (Fulton) and Tulare Street. The Palm Garden Bar is the background which is its second location after the first one burned down in August of 1893 at Tulare and Broadway Street. The Fresno Republican office was in the same building should be just left of the photo's frame. Circa 1910s most likely.

An account of the resource
A parade (Armistice Day or 4th of July?) in what is likely Tulare Street in front of the Edgerly Block on the southeast corner of J (Fulton) and Tulare Street. The Palm Garden Bar is the background which is its second location after the first one burned down in August of 1893 at Tulare and Broadway Street. The Fresno Republican office was in the same building should be just left of the photo's frame. Circa 1910s most likely.
