The water just above the gate will average about eight feet in depth for a width of sixty feet, with the pressure of fall sufficient to cause a flow of three feet per second. As the gates are raised from the bottom only sufficiently to admit a portion of the full head, the water rushes though the opening with great force. The fruit and raisin pack is sent out under the brand, "Union Packing Co." the business being jointly conducted with Porter Bros of San Francisco. The company has also established a "Jack Rabbit."
