Parlier (center) and wife to his left with their children and inlaws (18 in all) with hands joined to show the bough spread of his Smyrna Fig Tree. It was planted in 1888. The dimensions of the tree at this time (1909) were: Girth at ground, 11 feet 11 inches. Girth just below branching 13 feet 3 inches. Bough spread 78 feet.
